Welcome to my ever-evolving digital portfolio and blog.  I am actively creating a space to serve as a professional resource for myself and those that may be interested in my work.  The site serves as a digital home for my professional documents as I complete my first year at Elizabethtown College and as a repository for my own process as a university educator.  Much of my blog will be devoted to conversations with my work as I use writing and the affordances of digital media to keep track of my own thoughts.

I completed my dissertation in August, 2010 as a grand finale to my unbelievably rich experience as a Ph.D. student in special education with an emphasis in EBD and a MS in early childhood.  While completing my doctoral work, I served as a visiting instructor with the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education at The University of Southern Mississippi.  I have taught a variety of courses that reflect my diverse background experiences.

Before enrolling in the Ph.D. program, I was the director of an inclusive early childhood education program. We served children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age.I wore many hats, but my favorite was providing Early Intervention/Special Education services to children and their families.I also was a member of the Pediatric Evaluation and Developmental Services Team and routinely conducted evaluations, summarized comprehensive evaluation findings, and communicated with families.Prior to my tenure as director, I served as an early intervention specialist and traveled around the state providing support and training to early childhood programs to assist them in providing high quality services and including children with special needs in the classroom.Over the course of my career, I have also worked in a day treatment setting with children and youth with emotional and behavior disorders, and provided home based services.

I am currently navigating my first year as a faculty member and (occasionally as time allows) developing my online space so maybe I’ll remember all of my ideas and keep up with the wealth of resources I stumble upon.
